Detecting incorrect gears

Detecting incorrect gears

Identifying gears of the wrong type from differences in the gear diameter or number of teeth.

The XG Series uses a normalized correlation pattern search enabling stable detection even when there are variations in the brightness and colour of workpiece surfaces or backgrounds.

Benefit

Gears of the wrong type were previously inspected during assembly. Sometimes the wrong gear was discovered after it was already mounted, which lowered yields. The XG Series checks for wrong gears on fully automated lines before the mounting process, preventing assembly defects.
